Firefighter Mentor

TERMS OF SERVICE

Terms of Service

Last updated 18 September 2026.

These terms apply when you use Firefighter Mentor, whether or not you have a paid subscription. Using the site means you accept them. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data, and our Refunds Policy for cancellation and refund rights.

What the service is

Firefighter Mentor is a preparation service for UK firefighter recruitment: AI-marked interview practice, aptitude test practice (mechanical, verbal, numerical), a situational judgement test practice module, a Behavioural Styles Questionnaire practice module, and a bleep test calculator. It is a preparation and practice tool. It is not run or endorsed by any fire and rescue service, and it does not represent any fire and rescue service's official recruitment process.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials to yourself and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else has access to it.

Subscription and billing

Firefighter Mentor offers a £27 per month Membership and £97 per month Personal Mentoring. Both are billed monthly from the date you subscribe. Membership provides access to the self-directed preparation platform. Personal Mentoring also includes the personal calls, submission reviews, feedback and stage-specific support described on the pricing page at the time you subscribe.

You can cancel anytimefrom your dashboard's billing portal. Cancelling stops future billing but does not end your access immediately —your access continues until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, and no further payment is taken after that. There is no separate notice period beyond that.

Payment is processed by Stripe. We don't see or store your card details.

See our Refunds Policy for how the statutory 14-day cancellation right applies to this subscription, and how refunds are handled.

Acceptable use and content licence

Everything behind your subscription — questions, marking feedback, model answers, guides, the SJT and BSQ item banks — is licensed to you for your own personal use in preparing for firefighter recruitment. You may not redistribute, publish, resell, or share it with anyone who hasn't paid for access, in whole or in part, including screenshots or copied text shared publicly or with study groups. This protects the work that goes into writing and maintaining the content, and — for the BARS behavioural anchors specifically — respects the copyright of the material they're built from.

No guarantee of outcomes

Firefighter Mentor is preparation, not a guarantee. We do not guarantee that using this service will result in a job offer, a pass at any stage, or any particular score. Recruitment decisions are made entirely by the fire and rescue service you apply to, using their own process and criteria, which we don't control and can't see.

The marking is guidance, not an official assessment

Interview answers are marked by an AI model against publicly available national behavioural standards, as a training and feedback tool. It is not an official assessment, is not produced or reviewed by any fire and rescue service or official assessor, and does not predict how a real panel would score you. Treat the band, feedback and rationale as a considered opinion to help you improve an answer — not as a certified result.

The SJT key and the BSQ items

The situational judgement test's answer key is not published by any test provider — no fire service SJT key is public. Ours reflects how a UK fire and rescue panel would most likely rate each response, reasoned from the nine national Personal Qualities and Attributes, and is not the test publisher's key.

The Behavioural Styles Questionnaire practice module follows the format of a published participant briefing for a different (Police Constable) behavioural styles questionnaire from the same publisher family — same question format, different item set. No fire service BSQ item set is public, and the statements used here were written from scratch. They are not the publisher's items.

Both of these are also stated on the pages where you'd see the results themselves.

Intellectual property

The Firefighter Mentor name, branding, and all content on the site not otherwise credited belong to us or our licensors. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of any of it to you — the content licence above gives you the right to use it, not to own or redistribute it.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available, but don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, add to, or remove features, and may update these terms — if we do, the date at the top of this page changes. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided as preparation material, used at your own discretion. To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of it, including a recruitment outcome you're unhappy with. Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.

A NOTE ON THIS PAGE

These terms are written to describe the service as it actually works — the subscription mechanics, content licence and marking disclaimers above match what the code and Stripe configuration actually do, not boilerplate.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. This doesn't affect any statutory rights you have as a consumer where you live.
